Attacks in Europe where a court or a state authority records who the victims were. Ages are given only where the official document gives them.
Manchester Arena, 22 May 2017: the court found the bombers chose a concert to target the young. Almost half of those killed were children or teenagers.
"it is to be noted that the choice of the Ariana Grande concert as the target for this incident is one in which the defendant and his brother will have readily appreciated the heightened risk of death and serious injury to those who were particularly vulnerable because of their young age. I am satisfied that it was their intention to specifically target this age group; an aim in which they tragically succeeded, as almost half of those killed in the explosion were either children or teenagers."
Nice, 14 July 2016: 86 people killed on the promenade, 15 of them children.
Munich, 13 February 2025: a car driven into a trade-union march. A child and its mother died; 44 more people were injured.
Villach, 15 February 2025: a 14-year-old killed in what Austria's state security calls an Islamist terrorist attack.
Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray, 26 July 2016: the murder of the parish priest Father Jacques Hamel, set by the President of France in a declaration on Islamist terrorism.
The Islamic State enslaved Yazidi women and children as policy. Courts in Germany, Sweden and the Netherlands have since convicted members of IS for crimes against them. Each finding below is the court's or the UN's own text, with the limits the same document states.
UN Commission of Inquiry, 2016: ISIS committed genocide against the Yazidis, and the sexual slavery of Yazidi women and girls was organised and controlled by ISIS.
"ISIS has committed the crime of genocide as well as multiple crimes against humanity and war crimes against the Yazidis, thousands of whom are held captive in the Syrian Arab Republic where they are subjected to almost unimaginable horrors."
Germany's Federal Court of Justice, 2023: an IS member who bought a Yazidi woman and her five-year-old daughter as slaves is guilty of genocide. Life sentence, final.
Germany's Federal Court of Justice, 2023: a woman who joined IS knowingly furthered its policy of destroying the Yazidi religion and enslaving Yazidi women.
Stockholm District Court, 2025: nine Yazidi women and children were the injured parties. Six were children at the time, one of them a newborn.
Svea Court of Appeal, Sweden, November 2025: conviction upheld. She held Yazidi women and children within the slavery system IS introduced.
The Hague Court of Appeal, March 2026: a woman who joined IS made an enslaved Yazidi woman work for her - slavery, a crime against humanity.
United Nations, March 2024: reasonable grounds to believe that rape and gang rape occurred during the 7 October attacks. The report does not attribute the acts to a named group.
"Based on the information gathered by the mission team from multiple and independent sources, there are reasonable grounds to believe that conflict-related sexual violence occurred during the 7 October attacks in multiple locations across Gaza periphery, including rape and gang rape, in at least three locations."
Two attacks that this archive does not count as Islamist terrorism, and the official reason why.
Aschaffenburg, 22 January 2025 - not counted here: the court found the motive was paranoid schizophrenia.
Southport, 29 July 2024 - not counted here: the prosecution and the judge found no political, religious, racial or ideological cause.
"The prosecution have made it clear that these proceedings were not acts of terrorism within the meaning of the terrorism legislation, because there is no evidence that Rudakubana's purpose was to advance a political, religious, racial or ideological cause. I must accept that conclusion."
Europol's TE-SAT is the EU's consolidated annual measurement of terrorism. The EU Fundamental Rights Agency measures what Jewish communities in Europe experience. Denmark legislated against what its law formally terms "parallel societies" - and in December 2025 the Court of Justice of the EU ruled that the law's ethnic-origin criterion can constitute direct discrimination.
This archive cites both. The law shows a European legislature naming the problem; the judgment shows the legal limits of that response.
Of the 213 threat reports under the remit of Belgium's threat-assessment service in 2024, "Jewish and the Israeli interests were the main target, followed by specific persons". The same report names right-wing extremism as the second-largest category, and records left-wing extremist activity rising over the same conflict.
"In 2025, 45 terrorist attacks were reported by 10 Member States, while 486 suspects were arrested for terrorism-related offences across 21 Member States. Jihadism accounted for 24 of the reported attacks and 347 of the reported arrests."
96% of respondents encountered antisemitism in the year before the survey; 76% at least occasionally hide their Jewish identity.Summarised by this archive, not quoted. Open the source to read its own words.
Under Article 2(2)(a) of Directive 2000/43/EC, the Danish criterion targeting areas where 'immigrants from non-Western countries and their descendants' exceed 50% can constitute direct discrimination based on ethnic origin.Summarised by this archive, not quoted. "RER Saint-Michel, July 25, 1995, 8 dead and 200 wounded"
"Throughout the year 2024, the general threat level 3 (serious) was in effect in Belgium. [...] In the course of 2024, CUTA received 287 threat reports. [...] After analysis it appeared that 213 of these 287 threat reports fell under CUTA's remit (radicalisation, extremism, terrorism). Jewish and the Israeli interests were the main target, followed by specific persons."
"The Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre (JTAC) has today (30 April 2026) raised the UK national threat level from substantial, meaning an attack is likely, to severe, meaning an attack is highly likely in the next 6 months."
"The total number of 275 persons in custody for terrorism and terrorism-connected offences in Great Britain as at 30 June 2026 represents a 7% increase year-on-year, rising from 257 persons as at 30 June 2025. While the number of terrorist prisoners categorised as holding Islamist-extremist views remained unchanged at 157 compared to the year ending June 2025, increases among those categorised as holding extreme right-wing and other ideologies resulted in an overall rise in the terrorist prisoner population."
"The terrorist threat we see today is more diverse and more complex. Threats can come from a wide range of places and ideologies. In the UK and overseas, the threat from Islamist terrorism is the most prevalent and dangerous, but other threats, including extreme right-wing terrorists, threat from hostile states, and related challenges from violence-fixated individuals are of significant concern."
